Fall ASPIRE Dates

Senior Timeline

Crow ASPIRE
(Note: this information dates from Fall 2011, so dates and times may be inaccurate)

September/October

  • Research colleges/ universities/ vocational and technical via the Internet.
  • Register for SAT/ACT test if your have not done so and are planning on attending a 4 year college
  • Review your transcripts to be sure they meet the admissions requirements of selected school(s)
  • Know the difference between community requirements and four-year colleges
  • Start your e-App online scholarship search
  • Keep track of scholarship deadlines
  • Visit schools and colleges of interest,
  • Attend 1-2 college fairs to see what's out there.
    Mid-Willamette College Fair, Sunday, October 2, 2011,
    12 – 3 pm at Lane Community College- 100 colleges will be represented, (See Flyer)
  • If applying to a private college, find out if that college will accept the common application found at www.commonapp.org
  • Begin work on college admissions applications essays.
  • Keep a file of all college work, stay organized, write down and keep all passwords that you develop. (Keep them simple)
  • Fill out request forms for letters of recommendation to give to teachers, ASVISORS, and or employers –volunteer leader

November

  • Get FAFSA worksheet and begin work now on gathering necessary information
  • Visit college admissions office(s) know what is required
  • Start researching state, school and local level scholarships
  • Begin working on scholarship essays
  • Know admission deadline, talk to the schools financial aid department and see if there are school scholarships that you may be qualify for and KNOW DEADLINES

December

  • Register for FAFSA pin number @ www.pn.ed.gov
  • Work on OSAC scholarship applications
  • Have your documents ready to fill out your FAFSA on January 1
  • Make it to the PARENT NIGHT for January -June
