7:00 PM Board Chair, Dean Livelybrooks called the meeting to order. Directors present were Andy Stahl, Jeff Ramp, Tracy Evans, and Denice Goodheart. Staff present: Superintendent, Dr. Don Anderson, Administrative Assistant, Lee Ann Hartwig, Maria Zile and Kathi Holvey. Patrons present, Don Gleason, Sharon Kester and West Lane News reporter.

Special Recognition- Principal Kathi Holvey presented to the board information regarding the ELL Program. Currently the district has 5 students involved in the program consisting of 3 Spanish-speaking students and 2 Vietnamese.
Discussion was held regarding the work session to be held November 26, 2007 at Applegate Elementary
Moved by Andy Stahl, seconded by Denice Goodheart and carried 5-0 to accept the following action items.
· September 10, 2007 Board Minutes
· Temporary Teacher for ELL Program at .37 fte
· Administrative Evaluation
· Revised Board Goals 2007/2008
A. Facilities and Grounds Study for 2007
B. Technology Coordinators Posted and should be filled by November 12, 2007 Board Meeting
C. Consolidated Improvement Plan Requirements (CIP) should be completed soon.
D. School Improvement Grant Fund Application
E. Superintendent Search Plans- Discussion was held whether the district should continue with an interim (possibly Don Anderson) or should we open for a search for a more permanent Superintendent. Conclusion to be determined at November board meeting
F. Survey of Students not enrolled-small discussion showing report of why students left the district.
G. Alternative Education Policy Revision
Moved by Andy Stahl, seconded by Jeff Ramp and carried 5-0 to accept the first Reading for Alternative Education Policy-IBGHA
