Applegate Elementary School in Crow is pleased to announce it has been awarded $2,500 through AgWest Farm Creditā€™s Rural Community Grant program to be used towards lower basketball hoops in the gym for youth sports.

Participation in youth sports has skyrocketed and our gym is well-used. Currently only two of the six basketball hoops can be lowered to the youth height. The funds granted to Applegate will allow for more hoops to be lowered and increase students' ability to engage in practices at the correct height for their age group.

AgWestā€™s Rural Community Grants provide funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve rural communities within Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. This includes efforts such as building or improving facilities; purchasing necessary equipment to facilitate a local program; and funding capital improvements which enhance a communityā€™s infrastructure, viability and prosperity.

THANK YOU AgWest!
